We caught up with Carol Malone, a leader in the FIT4MOM community, to talk about her journey into fitness, how motherhood shaped her approach to health, and the simple but powerful habits that keep her grounded.

Q: What inspired your journey into fitness and health, and how has it evolved since becoming a mom?

I grew up dancing and after college I loved trying new things like biking and sprint triathlons. But after becoming a mom, fitness felt so much harder—I didn’t always have the energy, and I didn’t want to leave my daughter to work out. Discovering FIT4MOM was a game-changer. It allowed me to exercise with my daughter right there with me, led by instructors who were pre and postnatal certified, so I felt supported and safe.

Beyond the workouts, FIT4MOM gave me something I didn’t even know I needed: a community of moms to lean on, learn from, and grow with. Fitness for me has evolved into so much more than just staying active—it’s about connection, confidence, and showing my daughter what taking care of yourself looks like.

Q: What kind of content do your followers engage with the most—workouts, meals, motivation?

Motivation and community-centered content always get the biggest response. When I share stories from FIT4MOM classes—like how we modify moves to meet moms where they are, or the friendships that come out of our groups—that’s what resonates most. Of course, workouts and healthy meals are always popular, but what moms really connect with is the real-life encouragement and the reminder that they don’t have to do motherhood or fitness alone.

Q: How do you stay motivated on days when you’re exhausted or overwhelmed?

Honestly, being part of FIT4MOM is my biggest motivator. On the days when I’m drained, I know if I just show up—whether it’s for a class or a group run—the energy of the other moms and instructors will carry me. Accountability and community make all the difference. And I remind myself that movement doesn’t have to be “all or nothing”—even a short class or walk can completely shift my mindset and give me back the energy I thought I didn’t have.

Q: What are some small daily habits that have had a big impact on your health journey?

Some of the simplest habits have made the biggest difference for me: drinking enough water, moving daily (whether that’s a stroller walk or a class with FIT4MOM), being present during meals instead of multitasking, and writing down gratitude. They might seem small, but those little practices have really helped me feel more balanced and consistent in my health journey.

Q: What’s your favorite form of rest or recovery that doesn’t involve exercise?

Reading is one of my favorite ways to rest. I’m an introvert at heart, so having quiet alone time really helps me recharge. At the same time, I love connecting with my FIT4MOM mom friends—coffee dates or post-class hangouts always fill my cup in a different way. And if I can sneak one in, a good massage is another favorite form of recovery.

For Carol Malone, fitness isn’t about perfection—it’s about balance, presence, and the community that keeps her motivated. From stroller workouts to small daily habits, she shows how moms can find strength, confidence, and connection at Bounce Empire’s community events and through FIT4MOM.
