Lace Morris gives a look into boy-mom life, from quiet moments to the high-impact play they enjoy during their visits to the park.

We caught up with Lace Morris to talk about life as a single boy mom — the challenges, the joys, and the moments that shape their connection. Lace brings a grounded warmth and honesty to motherhood, sharing what it truly looks like to raise a curious, energetic little boy while building a life full of love and intention.

Q: What part of boy-mom life is most challenging when everything around him sparks big energy like an indoor amusement park?

Honestly, the biggest struggle has been learning to balance being his soft place to land and his guide. Boys naturally have so much energy and curiosity, and as a single mom, it’s all on me to teach him how to channel that, how to be kind, and how to express emotions. Some days it’s exhausting — but every day it’s worth it.

Q: Which parts of your personality do you notice most when your child is excited and fully engaged in play?

We’re both super expressive and full of personality. He’s got my little dramatic side, my laugh, and my determination. Even at his age, I can already see how strong-willed and loving he is — just like me.

Q: In what ways has single motherhood changed how you steady your child when the day feels a bit like a fast-moving ride?

It’s made me so much more intentional. Every moment feels precious because it’s just us. I’ve learned to slow down, to really listen, and to create a home full of love, peace, and laughter — even when life feels chaotic. I think it’s made our bond unshakable.

Q: What would you tell other single boy moms to help them make the most of an active day out with their kids?

Give yourself grace and know that you’re enough. You don’t have to be both parents — just his parent, and that’s powerful in itself. Pour into yourself too, because the more you fill your own cup, the more love and patience you can pour into him.

Q: What part of raising a boy feels most meaningful to you when you’re watching him discover new adventures?

His pure, unconditional love. There’s something so special about the way he looks at me and hugs me — I’m his whole world. Watching him grow, explore, and become his own person while still running back to me for comfort is the sweetest thing ever.
