We caught up with Sarah Hampton, a mom of four, to talk about her joys and challenges of parenting, family traditions, and how becoming a mother has shaped her personal style and content routine.
Q: As a mom of four, what’s your biggest challenge—and your biggest joy—in raising your kids?
My greatest joy is simply watching them grow and seeing the incredible people they’re becoming. Our 13-year-old is witty, yet kind and compassionate. Our 11-year-old may be more quiet, but he has a brilliant mind for thinking and creating. Our 4-year-old is full of energy but so kind, always eager to talk to everyone he meets. And our youngest, just 2 months, is a little fighter—born premature, she spent a month in the NICU but is thriving now and beginning to form her own personality. There is truly no greater joy than watching them grow up.
Q: How important is it to you that your kids feel confident and expressive in what they wear?
Clothing and accessories are such a great way for kids to express who they are. Outfits can boost confidence, help them feel comfortable, and reflect their interests—whether it’s a favorite sports team, character, or hobby.
I always want my kids to feel comfortable in what they wear, while also having the freedom to explore their individuality. Even my 4-year-old uses clothing to show off his personality. Lately, when he’s getting dressed, he’ll say things like, “This shirt makes me look cool” or “I look handsome in this.” Watching his thought process has been such a fun window into his growing self-expression.
Q: Are there any fun fashion traditions in your family—matching outfits, themed holiday looks, etc.?
Yes! One of our favorite traditions is wearing matching Christmas pajamas on Christmas Eve so that we all wake up coordinated while opening presents on Christmas morning.
For Halloween, we always do themed family costumes—we’ve been lumberjacks, The Incredibles, characters from Peter Pan, and we’re still debating this year’s theme! On a smaller scale, my 4-year-old and I often match randomly—everything from pajamas and shoes to shirts and sweatpants. I’m excited to start including my baby in the matching, and I look forward to coordinating looks just for the two of them.
Q: How has becoming a mother influenced your personal style and aesthetic?
My style has gone through many changes over the years, but nothing has shaped it more than motherhood. Before kids, I wore jeans and crop tops. Now, my wardrobe is centered around comfort and being able to move and play easily with my kids. Athleisure and sweats are my daily go-to.
These days, I care less about dressing to impress and more about being present and active with my children.
Q: What’s your content routine—how often do you shoot, edit, plan ahead, etc.?
My routine varies a lot depending on what we have going on. For rep or collab outfits, I try to do a maximum of two looks at a time for my 4-year-old—any more and it’s too much for him since he doesn’t enjoy sitting still.
My youngest is easier to photograph in multiple outfits since babies naturally change clothes several times a day. Much of my parenting, travel, and activity content is a mix of in-the-moment captures and planned shoots.
When it comes to editing, I like to work at night after the kids are asleep, though maternity leave has given me time to edit throughout the day as well. I like to post daily carousels, share a reel every couple of days, and post almost daily in stories with a real, unfiltered look into our family life.
For Sarah Hampton, family life is a blend of joy, style, and storytelling. From holiday traditions to daily parenting moments, she brings authenticity to every post—celebrating individuality, connection, and the beautiful chaos of raising four kids.
