We caught up with Sarah Zettler to learn how she became a trusted voice for parents looking for fun, practical, and safe family outings in Colorado. From prepping kids for new experiences to uncovering the best local events, Sarah blends parenting wisdom with adventure-ready tips.

Q: What inspired you to focus on family-friendly content and events?

I always joke that I’m a stay-at-home mom who never stays home. I know leaving the house with kids can be daunting for many or just seem like a big undertaking, so I wanted to be a resource for parents on things to do locally and what to expect when you go to these places.

Similarly, how we prep our kids for new experiences, we as adults also feel more relaxed and confident when we are prepped on what to expect somewhere.

Q: What makes Colorado such a great place for family adventures and events?

There is no shortage of family-friendly activities—there’s something for everyone! Whether you love outdoor adventure, great food, need adult connection, want a teacher-led event, or need to bring a laptop and set up shop to work while your child plays, you can find a fun, local spot that caters to your situation.

Q: Are there specific attractions or features at Bounce Empire you’re excited to share with your audience?

The obstacle course where the kids can race each other is going to be a highlight for many, as well as the raptor slide.

Q: What kind of information do your followers usually want most—pricing, accessibility, age appropriateness?

They typically want detail. To know what to expect. I try to include things that I would want to know as a parent, which are often things glossed over in websites or posts.

Can you bring in food? Can you come and go with a day pass or is there no re-entry? Is a chaperone pass extra money if you have two kids under 7? Are there hours that are designated or less crazy if you’re coming with younger kids, say under 10? What attractions are there? Can you see it all from the seating area, or is it a place I need to be walking around and scanning to see everyone?

Q: How do you prepare your kids for a new adventure like this—any tricks to avoid meltdowns?

I try to give an overview of the place we’re going and set the expectation: “We are going to a new play place today! It’s going to have some really fun things like big inflatables. We are going to do those but we are not going to do the arcade today. But we can get a snack at the snack bar there! Do you have any questions?”

Then I remind them if it gets too noisy or they start feeling frustrated or tired, we need to listen to our bodies and take a break. After we arrive, I show them where our table will be and walk them around the facility to get familiar.

While I supervise and aim to have them in eyesight the majority of the time, a place like Bounce Empire is a good place for me to give them some independence and not follow them around nonstop. Knowing where our table is gives them the ability to go play and come check in with me whenever they want, which helps ease their minds and allows them to play more confidently.

For Sarah Zettler, parenting is about preparation, connection, and adventure.
